In the Final game, He set a record breaking 48 points, and still holds the record today. Despite this seeming bright start in my basketball career, I suffered a major setback when moving up to higher level, the biggest nightmare of all athletes – injuries. After experiencing 4 major surgeries, I began to hold different perspective towards life, and using the same hustle on the court to face the challenges from rehabilitation to full recovery. The repetitive injuries dropped me from heaven to ground and I always manage to make a come. Based on the upon experiences, the purposes of this study are as follows: To investigate the interchanging relationships between basketball, injury and I. To reflect the mental and spiritual transformation of different stages after injuries To redefine the meaning of basketball to my inner self I conclude that there are four phases of mental/spiritual transformation. From the once mythology has turned into a parody. I tried to overturn the parody into my true return but failed as lies. I experienced many mental struggles during the entire process that people can not image. The ups and downs of basketball is just like four seasons, I was once at the admiring peak and also walked through the despised bottom, the most important thing is to stay positive at all time. From “injury and return”, it is a torture also a gift which makes me stronger by learning from it. I was once defeated and could not face the reality of career ending, but now I stand up and face it strongly. The transformation motivates me to regain control of my own fate and stand against my fears and the stealth desire to basketball. Shih, Ming-Tsung 石明宗 學位論文 ; thesis 48 zh-TW
