Summary: | 碩士 === 國立臺灣師範大學 === 高階經理人企業管理碩士在職專班(EMBA) === 106 === Due to the emergence of cloud technology and intense competition, the product life cycle becomes shorter and profits decline in memory industry. Therefore, how to maintain profitability by continuously improving product quality and increasing productivity becomes an important issue for the memory industry. This paper uses a company in the memory industry which was founded in 1988 as the case company. This study examines how the case company improves product quality in the trial production phase. This study also investigates how the case company performs continuous improvement in manpower reduction, fixture optimization, automation production, and adjustments of manufacturing processes. Moreover, this study examines the impacts of continuous improvements on product quality and productivity. According to the results, this study suggests that the case company should gradually invest in the purchase of equipment to increase production efficiency, and reduce manpower and production costs. For product lines which cannot use automation productions, the company should implement process improvements or fixture optimization to increase productivity and ensure product quality.
Extant studies have examined the specific processes improvement in certain industries using Taguchi experimental methods. However, the improvements suggested by these studies are not actually applied to product lines. In contrast, this study using one product line to examine the effects of reducing manpower, optimizing fixtures, and improving manufacturing processes. Thus, this study offers practical implications for memory module manufacturers to improve quality and productivity.
