Summary: | 碩士 === 國立臺南大學 === 特殊教育學系碩士在職專班 === 106 === The aim of research was to discuss the oriantation and mobility abilities and the self-Determination of secondary school blind students.The research took the secondary school blind students with other disabilities as the research subjects.
Total of 56 questionnaires were sent out and 56 were valid.Recovery rate was 100%.The data of questionnaire survey were analyzed by descriptive statistical analyses,effective size and Pearson’s product-moment correlation.Following conclutions were drawn out from this study:
1. Most blind students tended to possess the oriantation and mobility abilities.They possessed sighted guide,independent movement,cane skills,social skills,mental status,life application,and communication on strategies.One the other hand,they were weaker in assistance equipment skill.
2. Most blind students tended to possess the self-determination.They usually make a decision by their intrinsic motivation.
3. From the data analysis of oriantation and mobility abilities, different variables of blind students’background resulted in significant differences on educational stage, school type, and family style.
4. From the data analysis of self-determination,different variables of blind students’ background resulted in significant differences on family style,and resulted in slight differences on educational stage and school type.
5. The orientation and mobility abilities and the self-determination were
moderately positive correlated.
This thesis is ended with some suggestion according to the findings in this research to educational administrative organizations,schools,
orientation and mobility curriculum , and further academic research.
