Content analysis was used in the research. The contents of Chinese textbooks and exercise books of book 9 to 12 in year 2016 were scrutinized to check the distribution and frequency of the writing indicators appeared in the textbooks. Finally, the exercise contents were analyzed to check which indicators they were transformed form and how they were transformed.The results of the research are as follow: Only 83% of the writing indicators is included in the exercise of the integrated activities of Nan I, while approximately 17% of them is ignored. The indicator of making phrases and sentences, is emphasized in the integrated activities and exercise books. The indicator of writing process is not systematically presented though it appears frequently.“Observing and thinking" writing ability indicators inadequate arrangements. As for the indicator of ways of expressions, the expository and lyric practice are obviously less. Failed to attach importance to modify the article, the use of computer editing and sharing courses. Following suggestions were made for the future researchers and practitioners. The edition of writing materials should be adjusted based on the learning emphasis of different learning stages. In addition, teachers should pay attention to writing indicators ignored in the textbooks and supplement the materials in teaching.
