Adopting alternating treatment design, one high school participant with high cervical SCI engaged respiratory training via a multi-sensory feedback respiratory training device, an Arduino-based device which switches between audio and visual feedback daily, mechanically similar to regular incentive spirometer, while the sensory feedbacks were the independent variables and daily respiratory training counts being the dependent variable. Total of 48 data points were collected during the experiment under baseline, alternating treatments and final treatment phase. Then, the researcher analyzed the quantitative data via graphical methods, visual analysis, and calculating effect size, along with questionnaires from participant and his caregiver for social validity assessment. The results of the study suggest that: 1.Both sensory feedback treatments have positive effect on raising daily respiratory training counts in student with high cervical SCI; however, the audio feedback treatment has better overall effect. 2.Participant and caregiver both hold positive attitudes toward multi-sensory feedback respiratory training treatment.
