Seven hundred and forty one people in long-distance relationship were recruited to fill out the questionnaires. Research instruments included Personal Information, Attachment Style Scale (ASS), Relational Maintenance Behaviors Scale (RMBS), and Relationship Assessment Scale (RAS). Data were analyzed by descriptive statistics, t-test, one-way ANOVA, MANOVA, Pearson correlation, and multiple regression analysis. The major findings were as follows: 1.In long-distance relationship, the average subjective perception distance was 6.63 points (1-10 points), the average physical distance was 3115.33km, the average dating time was 6.6 days, the average separation period was 11 weeks. On average, long-distance lovers would communicate with their partners less than 24 hours when they were in separated condition. 2.For the adult attachment in close relationship of the lovers, most of the subjects tended to be secure style and preoccupied style. They used more positive relational maintenance behaviors than negative ones in a romantic relationship, and they perceived higher relationship satisfaction. 3.In long-distance relationship, different dating frequency groups showed significant differences in adult attachment styles. 4.In long-distance relationship, three different background variables (gender, relationship duration, and long-distance relationship duration) showed significant differences in relational maintenance behaviors. 5.In long-distance relationship, different background variables (gender, dating frequency, relationship duration, long-distance relationship duration, and subjective perception of distance) showed no differences in relationship satisfaction. 6.In long-distance relationship, there were significant correlation between adult attachment styles and relationship satisfaction except dismissing style. 7.In long-distance relationship, there were significant correlation between adult attachment styles and relational maintenance behaviors. 8.In long-distance relationship, there were positive correlations between positive relational maintenance behaviors and relationship satisfaction, and negative correlations between negative relational maintenance behaviors and relationship satisfaction. 9.In long-distance relationship, adult attachment styles and relational maintenance behaviors could predict effectively relationship satisfaction. In all relational maintenance behaviors, assurance was the most powerful predictor. According to the results, suggestions were provided to people in long-distance relationship, the counseling practitioners, and the future studies.
