The musical is based on the diction of Taiwanese tradition as the basic creation, the fusion of traditional Taiwanese folk songs and culture, the use of Taiwanese as the musical linguistic. This can break the ancient past creation and performance model by presenting literatures, musicals, languages and character education in the work. The purpose of this study is to study through the method of music text analysis. This paper explores the literary and musical creation methods of Professor Shang-Jen Chien in the musicals, few interviews section is carry out in deeply understand the character play through children’s learning results, as well as the education extension, and look forward to this research results can be used as reference for other researchers. The conclusion of this study showed that the Professor Shang-Jen Chien grew up with the Taiwanese localized music which influenced his future composition style, promoted native music and innovated the creative mode of Taiwanese children’s musicals. For his works, the following conclusions are obtained. 1. The plays in the “chant” and “lyrics”, had showed the characteristics of Taiwanese nursery rhymes and rich literary methods. 2. In the context of the song, the play was deliberately used to compose the Taiwanese traditional five-tone order and mode. 3. The play in the “language tone and song melody” of the interactive relationship, showing a harmonic phenomenon. 4. The play has achieved a plurality of teaching effects in children's art education “music education”, “children's literature” and “mother tongue language” in three aspects. Finally, this study will give some suggestions on how to teach, apply, popularize and promote the children's musicals in the future, so as to provide reference for the researchers who are interested in children's musicals.
