This study is based on the “Workforce Training Project” developed by Dr. Bin-Yin Lee, the chair of Mechanical and Computer-aided Engineering Department. Survey data was collected from the industries, students and teachers who took part in this project. This qualitative study was collected and analyzed by semi-structured questionnaire and the statistics were analyzed by simple regression analysis. The results showed that the interviewees expressed high satisfaction toward the training project and it contributed to the participants’ positive willingness of further employment. The findings of this study indicated that: 1) Workforce training project is superior to traditional industry-university cooperation in three dimensions: in terms of industries, they could hire those talents who have organizational commitment; in terms of students, applying what they learned could help them get a more satisfying salary; in terms of teachers, nurturing professional engineers would benefit in building up a platform of industry-university cooperation; 2) industry-university cooperation aims to practice the pedagogy of learning by doing, which prepares students for workplaces adjustment and adaptation so that the gap between learning and applying will be bridged.
