No research has been conducted to discuss the funding itself as a topic. This study explored the early intervention allowance for developmental delay children in Taichung City in the perspective of the main caregiver, as well as the impact of families’ uses of intervention medical services. The study sampled nine families with developmental delay children in Taichung city via in-depth interviews. Data were collected from the ten interviewees on the families’ experience in using intervention medical services, as well as their views on early intervention allowance. By such, the research hopes to uncover the influencing factors of the arrangement and utilization of intervention medical services. Paired with the similar or different experiences families encounter in intervention medical service, the research will evaluate the different views on intervention allowance. Furthermore, in deciphering the influencing factors, the collected data were analyzed according to the first stage behavioral model of health service use as put forward by Anderson in 1968.Results of the research show: (1) In general, families believe self-funded intervention medical service is more complete compared to the intervention medical service as provided by the National Health Insurance. As a result, most families choose self-funded intervention medical service over the intervention medical service as provided by the National Health Insurance. (2) Despite encouraging families to bring children to intervention medical services, the support and assistance as provided by the related units are inadequate, causing many families to feel helpless and bewildered due to overloaded medical services or being unable to find the suitable medical service. (3) Many families must afford additional intervention medical service charges. The funding is inadequate for solving the intervention medial needs of the children. (4) Compared to early intervention allowance, the mindset and concepts of early interventional medication of parents have a more direct impact on the arrangement and usage of intervention medical services. Lastly, based on the collected opinions of interviewees, researchers provided suggestions for future studies to focus on, as well as ideas for improvements for early intervention medical service. The limitation posed in the particular research were also introduced and explored in detail. LIN, YA-JUNG 林雅容 2018 學位論文 ; thesis 111 zh-TW |
