However, few researches have studied on the bench dip exercise. Various manufacturers of the bench has a different height and design, resulting in the choice of motion problems. The purpose of this study is to study the effect of bench heights (42, 45, 48 cm) on the biomechanics of the upper limbs. Method: Eleven male subjects in the sports university were recruited and were randomly assigned to perform bench dip exercise at three different heights. VICON motion analysis system and two KISTLER force plates were used to record the kinematics and kinetics of upper extremities. Results: There were greater shoulder outward shear and downward forces at 42 cm bench height. Also, there were greater inward shear force in shoulder and elbow joints at 48 cm bench height. In joint moments, the results showed that there were greater shoulder abduction moments and flexion moments at 42 cm bench height. Conclusion:The lower bench height, the more shoulder flexor activities. However, the inward shear forces were increased with the height of bench, the person with the problem of ligament should avoid dip exercise at higher bench.
