In the previous study, the Taurine and amino acid complex were reported to improve the skeletal muscle damage, related biochemical fatigue-related indicators and exercise performance, respectively. it will indicate that the taurine and amino acid complex (TAC) has a potential anti-fatigue effect and can be used as an anti-fatigue healthy food. The aim of current study was focused on the combinational effects of TAC on anti-fatigue efficacy with animal experimental platform. The study was designed using 8-week-old male ICR mice and randomly allocated the mice into 3 groups (n=10) : (1) the blank control groups (Vehicle), (2) calories control groups (Sugar), (3) the Taurine and amino acid complex (TAC). The mice were administrated with the TAC groups with equivalence to human recommended dose (4.2g/kg mice/day) by oral gavage. After seven weeks of continuous supplementation, the mice were assessed the exercising capacities, including forelimb grip and the exhaustive swimming test. In addition, their blood was collected immediately after exercise challenges to assess the change of lactic acid, urea blood nitrogen and creatine kinase (CK) to evaluate the fatigue status. Furthermore, the glycogen contents of live and muscle were measured after sacrifice. The performance of forelimb grip and the aerobic endurance in TAC group were significantly elevated as compared to vehicle and sugar group (p<0.05). The fatigue-associated indexes, such as lactic acid, urea nitrogen and the rise of CK, were significantly improved after supplementation. The glycogen content, important energy source, was also elucidated in the significant increase with TAC supplementation (p<0.05). In current study results, we believed it is an important reference to provide alternative potions for ergogenic aid supplementation.
