Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立屏東科技大學 === 生物機電工程系所 === 106 === In this study, an open-cavity fiber-optic Fabry-Pérot interferometer (OFFI) sensor is demonstrated. The fibers of diameter 125 and 630 μm (SMF-28 and F-MSC) were machined into three different end-face by laser processing, cutting and grinding. Six different sensors are fabricated by different combinations of fiber end faces. The two fibers with specific end faces are adhered to the acrylic platform in the manner of coaxial alignment. The two specific end faces form an open-cavity. The light signal transmits through the first end-face is reflected by the second end-face and the two reflected light signals interfere to form the interference spectrum. The interference spectrum shifts due to the refractive index change in the cavity. In this study, the aqueous solution of sucrose is used to test with refractive index from 1.33333 to 1.3680 RIU. The corresponding interference spectrum shift is measured and sensing sensitivity with coefficient of determination is also calculated. Finally the parameter of end-face shape, cavity length and temperature are discussed.
