The common scenes include the “out-of-order” road system, dead-end “road evil”, revert bow shape road pockets, buildings with sharp edges, and the out-of-order planning, lack of green space of a park. For the single purpose of increasing the developed land, the water system that should have been preserved is destroyed. The river or creek flow was altered, destroying the overall landscape and environment. Ultimately, it negatively affects the breathing of the environment, impacts both public and individual “environmental asset”. The interior layout and external landscape of a “Yang Zai” (preferred residence) are what the Ternary Geographical Theory refers to as the “inner and outer hilltops”. Both are critical to the well-being of the residents, and is broadly regarded.
The purpose of this study is to explore how the urban inner and exterior architectural hilltops (Nei-Wai Ruantou) can impact the well-being of a Yang Zai. By applying its theory, coupled with the practical examples to illustrate its methodology. The theory has not only great value of academic research, but also provides a reference for the planning and design of public and private buildings. The study includes: Theory and article reviews.
