Summary: | 碩士 === 國立屏東科技大學 === 工業管理系所 === 106 === Leucaena leucocephala was one of papermaking materials, which was initially introduced into Taiwan around the year of 1600’s. However it became an environmental plant due to its inefficiency in papermaking and quick growth with exclusive character. This study utilizes Leucaena leucocephala as activated carbon material in which its basic feature was analyzed followed by a series of carbonization and activation experiments in a high temperature pyrolysis equipment. , The physical activation is adopted in terms of inert gas systems with steam air and CO2 and material of high nickel alloy is used to assure the activated carbon products in high purity quality and in pollution free throughout the manufacturing processes. Use of the designated carbonization and activation process, a number of experiments on factor inspection of iodine value, adsorption, and yield ratios for Leucaena leucocephala and followed by implementation of beech as material with same carbonization and activation processes. Experimented results indicated that Leucaena leucocephala is superior to beech in all outcomes.
