International student enrolments in Taiwan have risen quickly in all industries of education over the previous decades. Every year, thousands of Indonesian learners come to study in Taiwan and Indonesia has become the 3rd biggest source of global learners from Southeast Asia. This research is based on the learning experiences of seven Indonesian students who enrolled in Master and Ph.D. courses at four universities in Taiwan. This study explores the learning experiences of Indonesian students from their viewpoint via in-depth face-to-face interviews. The interviews were registered digitally, transcribed verbatim, and the transcripts were translated from Indonesian into English. Indonesian students come to Taiwan to study because of the education requirements process, excellent reputable universities, easily accessible of immigration and visa policy-making, the available scholarship provides, convenient studies and living costs also promising the labor markets. Indonesian students’ learning experiences in Taiwan have helped them not only gain educational qualifications but also improve their abilities to deal with challenges in academic and social aspects.
