Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立屏東大學 === 教育行政研究所 === 106 === The purpose of this study are to probe the results and the effects when using “Gradual Release of Responsibility Model of Explicit Instruction” to implement summarization strategy instruction in sixth-grade classes, to examine student’s changes on reading comprehension and summarization efficiency, and to understand students perceptions on the instruction. This study adopted the method of Action Research, taking sixth graders as the research objectives. The articles in the textbook were used in the summarization strategy instruction for ten weeks in order to realize the impacts on students’ summarization ability. Worksheets, PISA Released Items-Reading(TW) , teaching journal and students’ interview record were conducted as the research tools in the study. According to the purpose of the study, these research tools used in the instruction would be described separately to evaluate the impacts on students’ summarization ability via summarization strategy instruction. The study came to the following conclusions: 1.Using “Gradual Release of Responsibility Model of Explicit Instruction” to implement Summarization strategy instruction is practicable. 2.Emphasized the grasp of discussing and the thinking aloud process of students with their reaction while teaching. 3.Textual analysis and strategy which conformed with the materials were needed before class. 4.The improvement of students’ reading comprehension wasn’t notable after implementing summarization strategy instruction. 5.Summarization strategy instruction had positive effects on the improvement of students’ summarization ability. 6.Summarization strategy instruction assisted students with noticeable progress of their summarization ability. The high-score group had made considerable progress than the low-score group. Researcher offered suggestions based on the results as above and offered the references for the researchers who are going to study in summarization strategy teaching in the future.
