Summary: | 碩士 === 國立屏東大學 === 教育心理與輔導學系碩士班 === 106 === The purpose of this study was to explore the impact of group counseling programs in horticultural therapy activities for fifth graders on student life adjustment.
The unequal pretest and posttest experimental design was conducted in this research in wich sixteen students in the fifth grades of elementary school in Taipei were selected as the sample. Sixteen students were randomly assigned to experimental group and control group, with a total of eight in each group. Experimental group participated for a semester every week of gardening activities in 40 minutes and totally in 480 minutes. The control group did not receive any treatment during the experiment.
This study used "Primary School Students Living Adaptation Scale" as a test tool. The data were then analyzed by Wilcoxon signed-rank test rating for statistical analysis. In addition, a though analysis of data was then conducted so as to further investigate into the effectiveness of the application of Life Adjustment Group Counseling.
Results were summarized as follows:
1.The experimental group had not immediate effect on the Overall Life Adjustment, Individual Adjustment, Family Adjustment, School Adjustment, and Peer Adjustment.
2.On the two-week follow up for the experimental group had not immediate effect on the Overall Life Adjustment, Individual Adjustment, Family Adjustment, School Adjustment, and Peer Adjustment.
3.According to feedback from the experimental group members, a full review of recorder video, and teacher and coleader's interview and feedback data, life-adjustment counseling group had positive effects on the experimental members. The members were satisfied with group activities and their teacher and coleader reported that life-adjustment counseling group definitely had a positive effect on students.
Finally, the researcher conducted a comprehensive discussion based on the results. The conclusions and recommendations have been made for future reference to researchers and practitioners.
