碩士 === 國立高雄師範大學 === 表演藝術碩士學位學程 === 106 === ABSTRACT 　　Voice is the most natural expression of human beings, and one of the ways that combines voice and music is singing in choir. In recent years, chorus from private sectors in Taiwan have brought back many gold medals in international competitions or done several cultural exchanges in various countries. It is worth discussing why these groups are mostly composed of adults without professional music backgrounds. The purpose of this study was to explore psychological motivations and learning reaction of adults without professional music backgrounds joining chorus. 　　The research used qualitative research and in-depth interviews were conducted from December 2017 to June 2018 with senior members of Kaohsiung Community Chorus from Kaohsiung and Taiwan EMBA Choir from Taipei. After the data observed and collected as well as materials provided by interviewee were analyzed summarized, the conclusions of this study are as follows: 1. Psychological motivations of adults without professional music backgrounds joining chorus are: to meet self-actualization because they enjoy singing and love music; health concerns because singing is beneficial in anti-aging, want to learn correct singing posture; psychological motivations such as increase interpersonal interaction and wider social scope are reasons of joining chorus. 2. Variable of adults without professional music backgrounds joining chorus includes: rapport between members; teaching ability and teaching method of the conductor; repertoire of chorus are influence factors for adults without professional music backgrounds attending the chorus. 3. The learning reaction of adults without professional music backgrounds meets the mid-high level needs in Maslow's hierarchy Theory, which is self-actualization. 4. Effects on adults without professional music backgrounds after joining chorus includes: acquire professional knowledge in music, increased self-confidence in singing and expansion of interpersonal socialization.
