In Taiwan, healthcare system, including western medicine, traditional Chinese medicine and folk therapy were all popular among society. The study aimed to:1) investigate the prevalence of CAM use and its possible predictors when people had medical need within the previous year. 2) explore the association between CAM use and satisfaction with western medicine, with regard to last outpatient visit, inpatient care, healthcare system and physician trust. Methods Data were drawn from the Taiwan Social Change Survey 2011, Phase6, Wave 2 which included a module on Health questionnaire. Case summary, chi-square test, Pearson correlation and multiple logistic regression analysis were conducted to investigate the association among variables. A total of 2077 participants were included at present study. Results and Conclusions Approximately 35.9% of participants reported had used CAM during the past year. The following variables emerged as predictors of CAM use: female, more younger, citizen residents, more educated, unmarried, dissatisfaction with last outpatient visit. Along with sociodemographic factors, dissatisfaction with western medical care and healthcare system were associated utilization of CAM, in Taiwan. LEE, CHUN-HSIEN 李俊賢 2018 學位論文 ; thesis 49 zh-TW |
