Summary: | 碩士 === 國立高雄師範大學 === 人力與知識管理研究所 === 106 === Globalization has given rise to high-tech products that exhibit a constant impact on people’s work and day-to-day lives. One example is Line, an instant messaging (IM) software. Line is well-received when used for private scenarios, such as communicating with friends and family and when emergency contact is needed. However, whether employing Line at work elevates employee satisfaction or exacerbates emotional exhaustion requires further investigation. The present study examined whether different Line usage behaviors resulted in varying levels of job satisfaction and emotional exhaustion.
A questionnaire survey was employed, and the staff members of the Kaohsiung City Government were recruited as subjects. A total of 300 questionnaires were issued, and 256 were retrieved, out of which 241 were valid, achieving an effective retrieval rate of 80.33%. The collected data were analyzed using descriptive statistical analysis, factor analysis, reliability analysis, and differential analysis. The results of the present study indicate a significant difference in job satisfaction and no significant difference in emotional exhaustion between the different Line usage behaviors of staff members of the Kaohsiung City Government.
The researchers anticipate that the results of the present study can serve as reference for understanding how the Line usage behaviors of Kaohsiung City Government's staff members affect job satisfaction and emotional exhaustion while shedding light on how supervisors, subordinates, and coworkers can best use Line for work purposes.
