This study aims to explore the various perspectives on life, mainly four related aspects and three questions for life. We expect the research results can be utilized as the basis for life education and as reference for carrying out senior citizen adult education program and children recite Chinese classical texts. The research adopts document analysis and Creative Hermeneutics, by Charles Wei-Hsun Fu, to interpret the texts of Great Learning and Doctrine of the Mean. The research result is as follows: 1. The Perspective on Life in the Great Learning and Doctrine of the Mean The perspective on Life in the Great Learning and Doctrine of the Mean is multidimensional and also emphasizes that the value of life is the manifestation of ethics, seeing “honesty” as the core thinking. Therefore, we can regard Great Learning and Doctrine of the Mean as the practice of life and the teachings to perfect the real personality cultivation. 2. Four Related Aspects in Life Education of Great Learning and Doctrine of Mean Although human beings possess the morality as Heaven does, we are supposed to make efforts on cultivating ourselves. Thus, each of us should be responsible for our words and conduct. In order to manifest the sound character, one has to live in the crowd, serve others, cultivate bravery from the awe of heaven and nature and carry out the peaceful world. 3. The Implication of Three Questions for Life in Great Learning and Doctrine of the Mean We are supposed to take the ultimate concern as our life goal. Hence, we should start from self-cultivation to restore innate nature, and then strike a balance between the sense and sensibility to attain the happiness of equality. The balance between the sense and sensibility lies in cultivating morality. We should learn to control our emotions and take benevolence, respect, filial piety, kindness and honesty to discipline ourselves. By doing so, we are supposed to have completed spiritual cultivation and demonstrate the meaning of life. According to the research conclusion, we suggest life education can be based on the development of innate human nature and the concept of wholeness of life can be transmitted on the start time of elementary school and in children recite Chinese classical texts class. Moreover, life education should be adopted in the senior association courses to enhance their spiritual cultivation and help them face the death without fear. 張淑美 鄭卜五 2018 學位論文 ; thesis 124 zh-TW
