It hoped to bring up students’ self development, life management, social participation, and environmental conservation abilities. These abilities were so basic as to maintain a good relationship with oneself, others and the environment in the globalized world. In order to do so, action research was employed in a junior high school class. The research process was divided into three phases: planning, implementation, and completion. As regards conceptual framework, the key ideas enlightened by, but not totally borrowed from, Paul Wong’s “ Mature Mandala Happiness ” were to be presented as a shape of pyramid. They were further used to account for the research data collected during action research. In doing so, eight topics were focused in relation to life education. They were “ My idol ”, “ Look at yourself ”, “ Control by myself ”, “ My family is so cute ”, “ Nice to have you ”, “ Delivering love out ”, “ Trash war ”, and “ I have to live ”. Teaching time was about four months. Researcher used students’ learning lists, students’ feedbacks, teacher’s observations, teacher’s notes, and interviews to conduct research analysis and discussion. The main results were briefly stated as follows: Firstly, the course had a positive impact on students’ self-development. Students understood themselves more than before. They could cherish life. They could set goals by themselves, but they had to learn how to attain these goals. Secondly, the course had a positive impact on students’ life management and social participation. Students could detect the patterns of interactions with their families. They would learn to care for others. They knew that cooperation was important, but they had to practice. Thirdly, the course had positive effects on students’ environmental conservation. Students could understand the crises of environment. They were able to recommend strategies to protect environment. Fourthly, news pegs integrated into life education was suitable as far as the desirability, feasibility, and affordability were taken into consideration. And finally, this study had enabled the researcher to promote teaching ability. Given that this study had demonstrated the desirability, feasibility, and affordability of the adaptation of news pegs into life curriculum, some suggestions for teachers were proposed so as to help promote life education in general and to enhance teacher professionalism in particular.
