According to these opinions, women always chase for slimness to stay in shape. The purpose of the study was to investigate the relevance among beauty myth, self-identity and the behaviors of weight loss by convenient sampling . The interviewees are 500 women who live in Kaohsiung city from 20 to 45 years old. The information gathered from the questionnaire investigation is processed by the t-test, one-way ANOVA, Pearson’s cross-product correlation, and multiple regression of SPSS22.0 computer software, Chinese edition. Based on the result of data analysis, this research reaches the following conclusions: 1. With regard to the beauty myth for women who live in Kaohsiung city, “the body image” has a maximum impact; however, the minimum is “the health concepts”. 2. “Social self” has a maximum impact on self-identity for women who live in Kaohsiung city; however, the minimum is “psychological self (1) media intimation”. 3. “Going on a diet” has a maximum impact on the behaviors of weight loss for women who live in Kaohsiung city; however, the minimum is “the surgery and the medication”. 4. The women who live in Kaohsiung city understood the beauty myth more about the health concepts, the higher score with self-identity, especially about “the psychological self(1) media intimation”. 5. The women who live in Kaohsiung city understood the beauty myth more about the health concepts, the higher score with the behaviors of weight loss, especially about “the surgery and the medication”. 6. The women who live in Kaohsiung city are very likely to lose weight when they lack of “social self” and “physiological self” of self-identity. “To modify the diet preference” is the main way to lose weight, and the second one is “to perform a surgery and take the medication”. 7. The women who live in Kaohsiung city have promising ability about the beauty myth and self-identity, especially on the influence of “psychological self (1) media intimation”. Based on the results, the researcher puts forward suggestions for educational administration, school administrative institutions, provides future researchers as a reference.
