The population consisted of 29 second grade pupils for each two classes from an elementary school in Kaohsiung.One class was assigned to be the experimental group and received the designed gender equality education in integrative activities area courses.Another class was assigned to be the control group and received the regular education.An experiment with pretest-posttest equivalent-control design was employed in this study.Before and after experiment,both groups of student took the same tests.
The conclusions of this study are as follows:
1.The gender equality education in integrative activities area courses has immediate and prolonged teaching effects for the concept of gender role.
2.The gender equality education in integrative activities area courses has immediate and prolonged teaching effects for the concept of gender interaction.
3.The gender equality education in integrative activities area courses has immediate and prolonged teaching effects for the concept of sex and power.
4.The gender equality education in integrative activities area courses has immediate and prolonged teaching effects for the concept of gender equality .
5.The parents and pupils of the experimental group make good feedbacks.
6.The courses let the pupils learn the correct concept of gender role, gender interaction,and sex and power.
