The participants are 20 normal laryngeal speakers (LA) and 20 male speakers with a pneumatic artificial larynx (PA). All the participants of study are male Taiwanese native speakers. The speech stimuli including the monosyllable words, the disyllabic words and sentences. Independent sample t-test was used to analyze the differences of acoustic parameters and tone intelligibility between two groups, Pearson correlation coefficient was used to analyze the relationship between acoustic parameters and tone intelligibility. The result shows that PA group had higher speaking F0 and syllable duration than LA group. PA have significantly less F0 range, F0 change rate (absolute value) and tone intelligibility compared with LA. Significant difference was found between the two groups in F0 (tone 4 and tone 5), F0 range (tone 1, tone 2, tone 3, tone 5 and tone 7), syllable duration (tone 3, tone 4 and tone 8), and F0 change rate (tone 1, tone 2, tone 3, tone 4, tone 5, tone 7 and tone 8). Significant correlations was found in the range of speaking F0, F0 change rate and tone intelligibility. PA had higher deviant F0 contour patterns, especially for tone 1, tone 2, tone 3, tone 4, tone 5, tone 7 and tone 8. Tone 2 and tone 3 had poor tone patterns than other tones. According to the analysis result of this study, PA had more limited F0 range, and had lower tone intelligibility. PA also had greater difficulty in producing for tone 1, tone 2, tone 3, tone 4, tone 5, tone 7 and tone 8. Finally, the main factor accounting tone intelligibility was F0 range. These findings suggest that speakers with pneumatic artificial larynx had laryngeal control deficits in tone production for Taiwanese. JENG, JING-YI 鄭靜宜 2018 學位論文 ; thesis 124 zh-TW
