Summary: | 碩士 === 國立高雄師範大學 === 美術學系 === 106 === The title of the thesis creation, Today’s Talk about the That-has-been, is derived from Camera Lucida: Reflections on Photography, in which Roland Barthes writes, “photography‟s noeme will therefore be: „That-has-been.‟” This is related to “the authentic trace of photography,” to employ Philippe Dubois‟ words. The photos were photographed in 2010; the photography studies were read in 2015 which produced the series of the Conversation with the Tree Skin; and the apposition between photos and works was made into a mutual conversation which thereby produces the works of this thesis creation.
Three phases are addressed in the thesis creation. The first phase concerns the creation of one hazardous encounter that inspired the researcher to photograph the Series of the Tree Skin. The second phase is related to the association of the photos of this Series, photographed from 2015 to 2017, to be shared with others, and it deepens the authentic feeling from the making of this Series. The third phase serves as the apposition and conversation of the Conversation with Tree Skin (2017) that nakedly reveal one‟s thoughts and feelings.
The purposes of this thesis creation are four: 1) to search for beauty, to discover beauty, and to share beauty; 2) to take care of the society; 3) to investigate the linkage between the artist and artworks; and 4) to cure one‟s self. The contents of the creation have three series: first, “series of reflection” devoted to the care of the society; second, “series of comparison” between photos and famous paintings, and third, “series of description” concerning self-cure. The deep feeling about the writing of this thesis is
that the creation serves as the means of self-manifestation and the content of it is usually closely related to the interpersonal encounters. Moreover, creation is the revealing of one‟s feelings, the liberation of one‟s self, and the salvation of arts.
