Additionally, this study divides the study sample into family firms and non-family firms and examines the board characteristics- product diversification relationship. The empirical results show that： 1.The CEO duality of all and family electronics firms is significantly and positively related to product diversification. 2.The independent director ratio of all and non-family electronics firms is significantly and negatively related to product diversification. 3.The board size of all and non-family electronics firms is significantly and positively related to product diversification. 4.The director ownership of all, family and non-family electronics firms is not significantly related to product diversification. 5.The director total compensation of all, family and non-family electronics firms is significantly and positively related to product diversification.
