Additionally, this study divides the study sample into family firms and non-family firms and examines the board characteristics- product diversification relationship. The empirical results show that: 1.The CEO duality of all and family electronics firms is significantly and positively related to product diversification. 2.The independent director ratio of all and non-family electronics firms is significantly and negatively related to product diversification. 3.The board size of all and non-family electronics firms is significantly and positively related to product diversification. 4.The director ownership of all, family and non-family electronics firms is not significantly related to product diversification. 5.The director total compensation of all, family and non-family electronics firms is significantly and positively related to product diversification.
