The purpose of people buying automotive navigation is to get the navigation information. However, with the popularity of the automotive navigation usage, many problems, such as devices malfunction or misinformation has been occurred, which cause the loss of life and property. According to Taiwan Consumer Protection Act, automotive navigation providers shall provide safe goods that meet reasonable expectations to the contemporarily technical and professional standards. If the goods cause injury or damage to consumers, the providers should be liable to pay compensation.
This thesis aims to explore the issue of the automotive navigation under Taiwan Consumer Protection Act. However, for the application of the relevant liability elements, Taiwan has no definite judgment for reference. Therefore, this thesis studies the arguments about the application of relevant norms of Taiwan Consumer Protection Act in automotive navigation, attempting to offer a few insights in dealing with relevant cases in the future.
