Rou Pu Tuan was an officially banned book in the Ming and Qing dynasties, people still have been crazy on its erotic and fascinating scenario. The novel even spread to overseas years later, and translated into Manchu, Japanese, German, English, French and many other languages, which has profound impact on erotic fiction writing around the world. And thebecause of development of neo-confucianism that China advocated since the Song Dynasty, love and sex between men and women became guilty and evil to people. It has been suppressed development of cultural and psychological vitality in China for five thousand years. Decline of erotic culture after the Qing Dynasty could be imagined. And what paradoxical is anti-active to the development of neoConfucianism, which made erotic novels popular in Ming and Qing dynasties, and such phenomenon also reflected the value of extravagance caused by the rich of folks. However, to consolidate power, politics still criticized and banned such erotic trend. Rou Pu Tuan has become more popular and enduring between the struggle of government and people. The study does research on characters and eroticism of Rou Pu Tuan .The researcher will study Rou Pu Tuan author's background and the culture of Ming and Qing Dynasties that influenced the the novel's writing. In addition, the researcher will try to use psychoanalysis, body energy, chakras and views about relevant religious to analyze and interpret "sex," which is the taboo for humankind since ancient times.
