This collection of novels can be divided into two major spindles and themes.The first one is Chi-hou Chong parents, who are both Macao people passed by in the era of smuggling, so several short stories are based on smuggling. Another major axis is the unintentional loneliness in the city, including the gangsters who are released from prison, young people who have just left the society, middle-aged female writers, lyricists, old man, etc. However, the characters in the novel do not completely end in loneliness. Chi-hou Chong vaguely reveals a hope in loneliness in the novel.
