Summary: | 碩士 === 國立東華大學 === 教育行政與管理學系 === 106 === The study explores the relationship between burnout and professional commit-ment of teachers in junior high schools in Hualien County. There were 301 teachers in 16 junior high schools selected as the research subjects. The analysis methods include descriptive statistical analysis, t-test, one-way ANOVA, Pearson product-moment correlation, and stepwise multiple regression analysis. The findings were as below:
1. The burnout of teachers in junior high schools in Hualien County showed medi-um-low level; especially the “depersonalization” was higher.
2. The professional commitment of teachers in junior high schools in Hualien was medium-high level, and the “professional identity” comparatively higher.
3. Teachers aged 31-40 years old, worked for 6-15 or 16-20 years of teaching experiences, as full-time teachers had high sense of burnout.
4. Teachers serviced less than 5 years or more than 21 years, with administration work carried higher sense of professtional commitment.
5. The burnout and professional commitment of teachers presented medium negative correlation.
6. The prediction for professional commitment caused by burnout of the teachers showed a positive result.
Based on the result of the study, some suggestions were provided for the educa-tional administrative institutions, school administrations, teachers, and future re-searchers as a reference.
