Summary:碩士 === 國立東華大學 === 民族事務與發展學系 === 106 === On August 8, 2009, Typhoon Morakot hit the Wutai Township of Pingtung County. The torrential rain not only triggered large amount of landslides, but also changed rivers and landforms. The accumulated landslides covered the river and turned the river that could not be exercised into a riverbed that the four-wheel drive vehicle can pass. Such a change opened the opportunity for the labuwan community to tract the culture root. During the recovery of Typhoon Morakot, labuwan community were settled into different emergency placement. Even though it was tough, but the rukai people of labuwan didn’t chose to leave their home at first place, they’ve tried every things they could to return home. The labuwan community held three times of tracing culture root initiative action in 2010, 2017 and 2018. The purpose of this action was returning to original community ‘kalabuwane’ and tracing back the historic context and collective memories through rukai’s myth, oral stories and history of ethnic migration. More than that, labuwan community looked forward to using this action as developing method in contemporary society, with clean up the traditional territory and identify the Stone-board House. The next step will be restoring the Stone-board House and constructing the blueprint of home
