Summary:碩士 === 國立東華大學 === 企業管理學系 === 106 ===  Taiwan’s non-profit organizations (NPO) have been struggling to increase incomes, because of the allowances from government and societies are shrinking. Not only because the economic recession, but also the donation flowed to international natural disaster as the global citizenship risen. However, the developing social enterprise applies commercial strategies to NPO to maximize improvements in social impact alongside profits.  Maria Social Welfare Foundation (MSWF) is one of the top ten NPOs in Taiwan. It established in 1983 and now owns 25 institutions. As a long-term disability care institution, MSWF needs multitude of funds and human resources. To uphold the spirit of social businesses and create employment opportunities for disabilities, MSWF runs two social enterprises, Maria MaMa Handmade Bakery and Maria MaMa Cleaning Team. MSWF offers disability a different vision of the future, and creates new value of NPO serves. This study used the Resource-Based Theory (RBT) to analyze the strategies of NPOs establish social enterprise, and how the social enterprise get more competitive by developing core resources.
