We care about the pregnant women in different gestation regarding their well-being and adjustment. Propose: This research aim to investigate how Taiwanese pregnant women's adjustment in each gestation affect postpartum depression and postpartum quality of life. Participant: This study recruited 264 pregnant women who are in the first gestation as our participant. Four evaluations were condicted at the first gestation, second gestation, third gestation, and postpartum. There were 193 women completed the 4-time evaluation. Tool: Liu (2016) Taiwanese Pregnant Women's Adjustment Scale was applied in this research. The scale measures the degrees of pregnant women's physiological changes, stress, positive emotions, negative emotions, marital quality, and social supports. Edinburgh Postnatal Depression Scale and WHOQoL-BREF questionnaires were also used to evaluate the postpartum depression and postpartum quality of life. Results: I. The difference levels of adjustment among 3 gestations are significant: With through gestation, the indisposition in physiological condition increases, while stress, positive emotions, negative emotions, and social supports decrease in indisposed level. However, marital quality has no significant relevant to adjustment. II. From the results of multiple stepwise regression analysis, positive and negative emotions, marital quality in second gestation; negative emotions and social supports in the third gestation can predict the result of postpartum EPDS score. From logistic regression analysis, the results show that the second gestation’s odds ratio of marital quality to postpartum depression is 0.454. The third gestation’s odds ratio of negative emotion to postpartum depression is 2.032. Furthermore, from postpartum quality of life prediction, the results show that the stress, negative emotions, and social supports can predict the pregnant woman's post pregnant quality of life.
