Summary:碩士 === 國立嘉義大學 === 數理教育研究所 === 106 === This is a case study conducted based on “compound interest”, using a practical real life situation in designing teaching material, applying it on four high school students in Yunlin County and observes its effectiveness. The main purpose of this study is to explore the problem-solving performance of individual students in "situated learning of compound interest" and the interest of students about "situated learning of compound interest". The results are divided into two parts: Part 1. Problem-solving performance: (1) Through the real life examples provided in situated learning, students can understand how to apply compound interest in their daily life. (2) Practice with three different types of bank deposit in order to help students to understand about compound interest, and improve their period calculation. (3) Using timeline to allow students to visualize and understand the time course easily. Part 2. Learning interest: (1) By asking questions during the class, we can stimulate students’ thinking and thereby feel more enjoyable. (2) Using situated learning, students no longer feel that mathematics is useless. (3) By creating a context that is closely related to real life, it helps teachers and students to establish a good interaction model.
