The residents’ emotional involvements in the community, the residents’ social relations, and how the residents use natural resources for tourism development are three important aspects of tourism development of a community. The community resident’s identification with the community affairs is conducive to the development of community tourism. The "social relations" established by the links and interactions of the residents allowing people to build “community values” which in turn enabling the residents to build a good community sense and further affects the resident’s attitude to the tourism development undergoing. The value also makes the residents be willing to take the initiative to care about the surrounding neighborhood situation, environment, and other social phenomena. The study employed convenient sampling method to do the surveys in Sih-gu community, Chiayi County resulting 264 valid questionnaires for data analysis. This study explored the relationships among the resident’s sense of community, community attachment, and the resident’s attitude toward tourism development of the community. The results of study show that the resident’s community attachment positively affects the resident’s sense of community, the resident’s sense of community positively affects the resident’s attitude of tourism development, and the resident’s community attachment positively affects the resident’s attitude of tourism development. In addition, the resident’s sense of community can have positive impacts on the relationship between the resident’s community attachment and attitude of tourism development, indicating how the residents’ social relations influenced by their attitude of tourism development. Based on the findings of this empirical study, managerial implications and future research were suggested as well. Chang, David Y. 張耀仁 2017 學位論文 ; thesis 0 zh-TW
