Furthermore, the determinants were discerned by the regression analysis. The results would be valuable for the training of youth athletes. 18 male junior and senior high school sprinters were recruited to join this study. They were subjected to take a battery of measurements including height, weight, body fat and lean body fat, sit and reach, backward medicine ball throw, vertical jump, visual reaction, hexagonal agility, and 40 m sprint. The times of 100m performance were obtained from the official competitions they attended within 2 months after the measurements. Data were analyzed by descriptive statistics, Pearson product-moment correlation and multiple regression analysis by using SPSS 20.0. The correlations of 100m times were significant with age, backward medicine ball throw, hexagon agility test, fat-free mass, height, and vertical jump, with the correlation coefficient r were -0.674, -0.602, 0.585, -0.520, -0.485, and -0.480, respectively. Multivariate regression analysis selected age and height as major determinants, and the combined R2 was 59%. Based on the results, it showed the 100m performance of these young sprinters was related to natural growth accompany with increases of height, muscle mass, explosive powers of both the upper and lower extremities, and neural-muscular control. The body fat percentage, flexibility, and reaction time, however, were not correlated. On the training of adolescent sprinters, it is suggested that drills of enhancing upper body strength and legs’ agility should be supplemented in the program typically focused on the legs’ power. In addition, the data of the present study provide a reference for talent identification of young sprinters. Tsai,Jong-Chang 蔡忠昌 2018 學位論文 ; thesis 64 zh-TW
