It affects the brightness of the lighting equipment output stability. Flicker can cause visual disturbances and visual fatigue, which are more likely to hurt human eye. In this paper, according to the International Electro technical Commission for voltage flicker to develop standards IEC61000-4-15, a voltage flicker simulation system is developed and tested. Moreover, the produced simulation voltage flicker is measured in the short-term flicker severity and long-term flicker severity, which are defined to calculate the flicker severity index. By applying three different kinds of lamp to the voltage flicker simulator, the lamp can output the configured light flicker. The voltage flicker at the frequency of 1 ~ 20Hz with different amplitude modulation are tested with the lamps. Both of the light meter and photosensitive resistance are used to measure the light flicker to make a comparison.
