There are lots of things can be accomplished through IoT technology in a smart city. One of the most important rating of smart city is public convenience. The tidiness and cleanness of the public convenience environment is also a symbol of urban civilization. The research is about providing an environment monitoring system using IoT technologies. It is used to improve the environment management of the traditional public convenience and promote the whole cityscape. It helps environmental managers monitor the status of the whole public convenience more efficiently. The experiments of the research have been simulated in the restrooms of all teaching buildings in National Changhua University of Education (NCUE) campus. The results can be provided to city government and environmental-related manufacturers for consideration as part of features of a smart city.
