The researcher served as a group leader and conducted eight self-exploration groups sessions for four college students with physical disabilities. The researcher recorded and photographed the whole group during the "group gathering" and "individual interviews after the end of the group." The video of the group meeting was converted into a detailed group process record, which was analyzed in conjunction with the contents of the "Group member recording form", "Leader evaluation form", "Observer group recording form" and "Supervisor’s evaluation form". And the changes of the member were compared with the data. The main findings of the study are as follows: (一)Self-exploration group counseling program topics include emotional awareness, self-awareness, and body imagery consciousness and other concepts. Member interaction, questioning and feedback training in the group are strengthened, and exercises of personal emotions and interpersonal interaction are provided. (二)The effects of self-exploration groups for college students with physical are as : 1.The assessment results show that the leader can follow the group in regard of process fluency, goal achievement, member input, and site safety, and correcting the group's direction to achieve group’s goal . 2.The challenges of group members and the strategies used include: (1)Challenges faced by members include lack of self- confidence, attitudes of self-acceptance, social avoidance, few expression in content, low tolerance, negative emotional response, and presentation of individual issues. (2)The strategies adopted by researchers include: re-examining the advantages and diaadvantages ofphysical and mental traits and psychosocial adaptation behaviors of physical disabilities, modifying group programs, and designing mixed activities of multi-consultative media. (三) Self-exploration group program show the effects of improving self-awareness, which is described as follows: 1.Body image perception: members are more likely to accept their own appearance and gradually expose to social intimacy. 2.Emotional ability awareness: ability to be aware of, to express and control emotions. 3.Interpersonal ability awareness: The breadth and frequency of interpersonal contact increase, the interpersonal interaction mode changes, tending to be positively mature. In addition, based on the results of this study, specific recommendations are made for the practicioners and future research.
