A Study of the Relationship between the Behavior of Internet Using and Internet Addition of Vocational High School Students in Nantou

碩士 === 國立彰化師範大學 === 教育研究所 === 106 === The purpose of this study was to explore the relationship between vocational high school students’ behavior of internet using and internet addition. The participants were 627 vocational high school students in Nantou. Survey questionnaires has been utilized as the research method and descriptive statistics, independent sample t-test, one-way ANOVA, Pearson product-moment correlation and multiple regression analysis were applied to analyze the data. The major findings of this study were summarized as following: first, vocational high school students in Nantou used the internet quite frequently and about 60% of students had a tendency to internet addiction. Second, with respect to the behavior of internet using, male students had higher entertainment behavior than female students whereas female students had higher basic and social behavior than male students. Third, with respect to internet addition, male students had higher internet addition and interpersonal/health problems than female students. Twelve-graders had higher interpersonal/health problems than tenth-graders. Art group had higher withdrawal symptoms than business group. Fourth, there was a significantly positive correlation between behavior of internet using and internet addiction. Final, behavior of internet using can significantly predict internet addiction, and the entertainment behavior was the strongest predictor. Based on the findings, the suggestions were provided to parents, school teachers, students and future researchers.
