For traditional industries, it is essential for management to combine traditional technologies with other cultures and transform their factories into tourism factories based on the diversified development to meet the needs of modern consumers and cultural heritage. Tatami was introduced during the Japanese colonial rule of Taiwan. Its application and transformation have affected the rise and fall of the industry. In view of the decline of the industry, this study intends to find a new outlet for traditional industries. Advantages and disadvantages of establishing tourism factories, appraisals, scoring standards and guidelines about tourism factories are reviewed. A case that pinpoints the current problems, difficulties, and bottlenecks to transform into a tourism factory is discussed along with the integration of innovative product design, service experience, and the like.
