His special recognition creates his dignity and influence in Chinese literature. Pai’s literary works are often rewritten into dramas, screen plays, stage plays and many other forms of performance. This study is conducted on A Touch of Green based on Pai Hsien-yung’s “literary novel” and Huang Shi-ming’s “script for drama”. Comparison is made between “literary description” and “broadcasted images”, particularly on the correlation and variance in characters, perspective, narrative, theme structure and artistic techniques. The “recurrence” and “reinterpreted” with the script of drama enables this study on A Touch of Green to conduct research from a more comprehensive and diverse perceptive serves as a pioneering reference for academic research.
