However, after the impact of bubble economy and industrial transformation, the value of Japanese Sogo Shosha existence was decreasing, and the “trading company unnecessary theory” blew up in community. Facing this crisis, Sogo Shosha takes an aggressive corporate transformation action and successfully changed. As a result, Sogo Shosha stroke the new high sales performance over and over again in 21th century, and they are always ranked TOP 100 companies in Japanese market.
The research take literature review method to find out Sogo Shosha’s definition and function and also functional transformation action in recent years. The research also takes an exploratory study, and the research object is the biggest Sogo Shosha, Mitsubishicorp Corporation, in order to find out its revolution in organization change, operating and management and strategy, and what enlightenments domestic trading company can acquire.
Domestic trading companies are also suffering disintermediation crisis these years and their revenues decline severely because of improvement of internet, making transaction get transparent and the offshoring problem.
Domestic trading companies should imitate The Japanese Sogo Shosha to execute combination and strategic alliance action in order to enlarge the business scope and improve the company constitution; on the other hand, advance its ability to provide total solution of trading service. These innovations may help break through difficulty of disintermediation.
