Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立交通大學 === 資訊科學與工程研究所 === 106 === Nowadays, the research on eye movements of website visitors is gradually popularized because of the advance of eye tracking technology, the development of low-cost eye tracking devices and the fact that people usually obtain information on the internet. However, most of low-cost eye tracking devices only provide simple analysis systems or a set of software development kits, and the common free eye-tracking analysis related open-source software systems don’t provide suitable functions to analyze eye movements of website visitors. There is still a lack of proper systems for analyzing web eye tracking data with low-cost eye tracking devices. The thesis proposes an eye and mouse tracking analysis system for webpages in Chrome with low-cost eye tracking devices. The system records and analyzes eye and mouse movements of website visitors to measure where visitors’ gaze is focused. The information generated by the system can be used to infer what visitors are paying attention to or ignoring on each webpage. The system contains Chrome extension and native application. Chrome extension obtains and sends webpage data to native application. Native application includes four modules which are record module, fixation module, analysis module and export module. Record module records eye and mouse movements of website visitors. Fixation module calculates gaze and mouse fixations. Analysis module is designed for visual and statistical data analysis. Export module exports the result from analysis module. Finally, for the analysis of eye movements on webpages, the thesis compares the functions of the proposed system with those of the common free eye-tracking analysis related open-source software systems. The thesis also collects eye-tracking related researchers’ opinions to evaluate system availability and improve the system functions.
