Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立交通大學 === 光電工程研究所 === 106 === Osteoporosis is a popular disease that greatly influence our life, According to World Health Organization, osteoporosis is the second majority ailment. This disease kills lot of people by fracture and other concurrent disease like heart attack and pneumonia. For instance, hip fractures, the most fatal type of fracture; it has been estimated that approximately twenty percent of all patients die within a year. Moreover, the declines in functional status and psychological health and the increased phases of disability that are usually associated with bone disease and fractures can have a profound impact on patients’ quality of life. Individuals suffering osteoporotic-related fractures consistently report significant reductions in quality-adjusted life years. In this case, diagnosis of the bone mineral density to prevent and to remedy such disease becomes important. Therefore in this work our aim is to build a system with uncomplicated architecture and a low cost but still have a favorable bone test result. We hired beer lambert’s law to observe optical attenuation and validate the result by comparing the result with DXA, finally we get a good result and provide a possibility to acquire bone density with a simple system.
