Many start-ups nowadays provide services or applications instead of tangible products. Well-known examples: Facebook, Uber, Air bNb. However, the main difference that make these companies stand out in the market is Network Effects.
The benefits can be created through the company's strategy, it is not naturally exist in the market.
Therefore, this paper will define the key factors that should be involved in creating Network Effects and we will summarise these key factors into a model enables
readers to set their corporate strategies based on their market characteristics.
Finally, we will also use Netflix as a case study to examine in detail the strategies the
company has implemented, including the company's operations strategy, pricing and
marketing strategies that gives Netflix dominate position in the video streaming market, while their competitors can not reach their level.
