Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立交通大學 === 管理學院工業工程與管理學程 === 106 === A 12-inch fab in the semiconductor manufacturing is highly automatic. The main task of technicians is to monitor the production systems, including tools and material handling system, and to resolve the unexpected production issues. On one hand, it needs sufficient technicians to keep the production in a working condition, on the other hand, the company intends to reduce the workforce to increase the operational efficiency. The workforce planning or requirement assessment is challenging especially due to the uncertainty. In this study, we apply the Monte Carlo simulation to estimate the technician requirement. The approach proposed considers beyond the average requirement. It can provide the detailed probability distribution of the requirement as a clear aid to enhance the decision quality.
