Method:This study adopted a qualitative design and semi-structured in-depth interviews were conducted. Seven fitness instructors who possessed more than one-year experience and had the experience giving sports nutrition advice were selected using purposive sampling and invited to participate in this study. Content analysis was used for data analysis. Result:Six themes emerged from the data collected for this study : (1) identifying solutions to clients’ basic problems, (2) possessing the sports nutrition knowledge helping to clients with special needs, (3) how to make food exchange and choose ideal food in daily life, (4) the hottest issues and trends about sports nutrition nowadays, (5) obtaining persuasive communication skill, (6) practical learning with flexibility. Conclusion:Despite the fact that most fitness instructor are able to provide answers to clients’ questions regarding sports nutrition. There is still a need for them to acquire both sports nutrition knowledge for clients with special needs and persuasive communication skill. Moreover, they except practical learning with flexibility.
